COVID-19: Things To Do, Virtual Classes, and Resources to Stay Safe and Informed
At Playful Minds, they offer social emotional learning and enrichment courses to homeschool students. Building resiliency, or the ability to bounce back in the face of challenges, is a primary objective of the groups. They focus on practicing positive communication and mindful behaviors while developing strong mental and physical health.
Children learn best when they are playing and are able to directly apply what they are learning to their day-to-day experiences. Relying heavily on games and interactive learning, Playful Minds groups are designed to keep kids engaged and having fun.
Current classes include:
Cooperation, Coordination, and Climbing @ Beaches Rock Gym (a weekly two hour PE class with a social-emotional skill building twist)
Mindfulness for Kids @ Community Presbyterian Church (a weekly 1.5 hour class about calming your emotions, focusing your attention, thinking optimistically, practicing kindness, and enjoying your life).
