COVID-19: Things To Do, Virtual Classes, and Resources to Stay Safe and Informed
Farm and garden providing opportunities to volunteer, do co-op farming and animal adoption. They offer tours free of charge each Saturday from 9 til 3. Bring your lunch and take in the experience. They can provide a guided tour to share the story behind our rescues. Apples, crackers and carrots are fun treats to feed the residents.
The new farm has multiple gardens that are growing and changing with the needs of the farm and the people that they help. This includes a sensory garden with plants to touch, taste, and smell; a community garden where volunteers and families in need work together to bring healthy food to the families’ tables; a whimsical garden, populated with over-sized flowers made from teacups and saucers and friendly garden toads and gnomes, where the children scatter seeds.
Every second Friday of the school year, they have a home school event that includes a hands on class that reinforces what you are already teaching at home! They also have a thirty minute free time for touring the farm, playing on the playgrounds, picnicking, or networking! We have horses, ponies, goats, pigs, and much more! Only $5 donation requested per child. Classes are from 10am to 11:30am. Please call ahead so that they can tailor the class to expected ages and size of group.
