Lannie Road Park is situated in upper northwestern Jacksonville, near the portion of Thomas Creek that separates Duval and Nassau counties. Gateway Radio Control Club operates a flying field for radio-controlled, miniature airplanes. Its facilities--which include a covered pavilion with picnic tables and workbenches, taxiways, a runway, and a clubhouse--are open to the public. Weekend classes are provided for beginners.
