GIrls ages 8 & up learn the basics of becoming a Fashion Designers.
GIrls ages 8 & up learn how to bring their ideas from paper to reality through their 6 to 8 week design program. Girls who dream of becoming a Fashion Designer will learn how to create and sew their own designs. This is believed that learning to operate a sewing machine to make a dress for a prom or special dance or doing hand sewing to repair buttons, hems or a tear will save you lots of money in the long run.
In addition to learning practical, money saving skills, those who participate in the Designer Kids program also get a glimpse of the fashion design industry. Their designer kids program has benefitted future fashion designers by exposing them to the basics of fashion design at an early age. Program alumni have gone on to be featured in the entertainment industry and have gained the attention of companies such as Disney and televisions’ Project Runway “Threads”. Every year, the program brings girls out to L.A. to have them participate in a fashion showcase and attend a red carpet awards event. Young designers and models display their fashion skills on an actual runway. They are also seen by Hollywood insiders, who offer positive advice to advance their chances of building a career for themselves.
