Full Description

Parenting can be fun. It is demanding; no getting around it. But, be with a child for awhile and you can sense the innocence, vulnerability, and trust those small hands have when they grab one of our fingers and believe if they have a finger to hold on to, the world is a good place. It is this tiny belief in goodness and trust that motivates others of all ages to put forth the commitment to create a better world through nurturing.” Bavolek, 1999

The St. Johns County Health and Human Services Community Resource Center provides Parenting Education Groups, using the concepts of the Nurturing Parenting Program, developed by Stephen J. Bavolek, Ph.D. and the Active Parenting Program (including Active Parenting of Teens), developed by Michael H. Popkin, Ph.D. Both programs are included in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.

Groups are held at a variety of locations throughout St. Augustine and more locations and times are in the planning stages.
