1st-12th grade students will be taken on a 35-40 minute, three-building guided presentation.
This is the site where Ponce de Leon came ashore in 1513 and also where St. Augustine was founded in 1565. Tour includes a Discovery Globe show depicting 100 years of Spanish history in the New World; a Planetarium show which reveals how the ancient mariners used celestial bodies in navigation to find their way to the New World and which also shows the night sky as it appeared at the time of North America's discovery; and Spring House, where students can sample water from the world famous "Fountain of Youth".
Following the tour, groups may independently visit the rest of the site, which includes an Indian encounter building, burial ground, and 12 explorable acres. Min 20 per group. Open daily 9am - 5pm. Must call for reservation.
