Students will learn why car seats are so important for protecting young passengers; how car seats were developed; federal and state laws governing the use of car seats; and how to install a car sear (rear-facing, forward facing and booster) correctly. The course includes 46min of on-demand video.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to provide parent-friendly tips on how to correctly choose and use a car seat, including why child restraints are effective and needed, how to select the best type of car seat for a child's needs, what a correct car seat installation looks like, how a child benefits from a harness that fits correctly, and when it is time to move to a new type of car seat. Keeping kids safe on the road is a team effort and this class will give you the information you need to prevent injuries and save lives in your community.
