The purpose of the Shallow Water Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level shallow water lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies in shallow water up to 5-feet deep and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Shallow Water Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. Cost is $225 for the course.
This is a Blended Learning course, combining online learning with the in-person classroom/swimming pool skills course. After registering here, participants will be contacted by Safety First with their online course link to complete it prior to the start of in-person course.
