This is a Lifeguard Certification Course to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over. Registration is $225.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. This is a Blended Learning course, combining online learning with the in-person classroom/swimming pool skills course. After registering here, participants will be contacted by Safety First with their online course link to complete it prior to the start of in-person course.
Participants must be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course; be able to swim 100 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing and tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs; and complete a timed event within 50 seconds.
