COVID-19: Things To Do, Virtual Classes, and Resources to Stay Safe and Informed
Homeschool Zoocademy at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is designed for students ages 5-15 and covers a wide range of topics in biology, zoology, environmental science, conservation, and more. This year they will be offering in-person options only. Class size will be strictly limited to 15 students each. Students will be required to bring their own masks and wear them throughout the class. They are eliminating the snack break in order to help minimize possible transmission of COVID-19.
Homeschool Zoocademy (5-12 years old) Sessions:
Classes for students ages 5-12 will explore a different topic once a month throughout the school year. There will be several day and time options offered for each topic. Each class will include lessons, animal encounters, activities and/or projects, and walks through the Zoo. Registration will be offered in two month sessions only- there will not be individual month sign up options. Cost is $90 for non-members and $40 for zoo members.
Session 1: September 7 and October 5
Session 2: November 2 and December 7
Session 3: January and February
Session 4: March and April
