COVID-19: Things To Do, Virtual Classes, and Resources to Stay Safe and Informed
The Homeschool Legal Defense Association hosts a poetry contest for homeschool students ages 7 to 19. Entries must be submitted and entry fees postmarked no later than May 1. For this year’s poetry contest, enjoy the complexity of the English language and mechanics of poetic literature. Do this by telling a story or expressing a message through a poem you create with a specific alphabetic structure (category details below), all the while maintaining your special voice. Click here for details. Each student may enter up to 3 different poems per contest. Each piece requires a separate Entry Fee and online Entry Form submission. Entry fees are $10 for HSLDA members, and $15 for non-members, per entry. All contest profits support the charitable program HSLDA Compassion, through which they provide low-income homeschooling families with grants, scholarships, and other educational and legal resources to help them continue homeschooling in hard times. Winners in each category will win cash prizes, ranging from $50 to $500.
Through May 1
