Youth baseball and softball are played in spring and early fall. Athletes compete in five age divisions ranging from ages 8 - 17.
Spring registration begins in January and continues through mid-February at most local neighborhood athletic associations. Fall's baseball season registration is in August, with games played September through October.

Kids are divided according to age with a different focus in each age group. Kids ages 4-6 start with a T-ball, ages 7-8 use a pitching machine, ages 9-10 focus on pitching; ages 11-12 focus on lead-offs and steals, and ages 13-15 play real baseball.
